Conceptual Art Book

So I'm going to write a book of conceptual art ideas.

1. Have two pianists learn a fairly difficult piece (by Chopin or whoever) and have one pianist transpose the piece by a half step. Then both pianists would perform the piece simultaneously.

2. Create a film in the style of a silent film, but with voices, sound effects, etc. Give the film to a pianist as a silent film and have the pianist write and perform the score for the movie. Film the pianist playing the score while playing back the sound from the movie. It's a reverse silent movie!!!

I love when people who work at record stores are dumb!

Don't you?

I got Talk Talk's "Spirit of Eden" on vinyl for $3.99 at the Electric Fetus. It's in mint condition and worth about $50. :)

Alcohol

For Example: Jameson Irish Whiskey

~$5.50 a shot at a bar
~$24.00 for a 1 liter bottle at a liquor store

If shots are 1 oz., then a bottle's worth of shots at a bar would cost you ~$176.00
If shots are 1.5oz., then a bottle's worth of shots at a bar would cost you ~$117.00
If shots are 2 oz., then a bottle's worth of shots at a bar would cost you ~$88.00

This is why I don't go out very much.

On an economically-related note, a man called in to a talk show last night on 1500am to talk about the "economic crisis". He said that a huge part of the problem was that houses/properties were being sold for too much money which created less demand. Remember a few years ago when the whole loft/condo building thing was really hoppin'? Units were being sold for way more than they were worth, and now that the demand has dropped, prices are much more accurate. That makes a lot of sense to me.

Shameless Self-Commotion

I'm not going to use this blog as a place to advertise my band.
That's what Myspace and Facebook are for.

I need a new job!
I've been really disappointed by food lately. Probably cuz I'm eating too much.

And I totally scored a winning goal with :02 left in NHL '94 to beat Anthony.

Songs That Remind Me Of People #1

A very sad song!

"All Your Women Things" by Smog

All your women things
All your frilly things
Scattered 'round my room
Right where you left them
When you left them
Scattered 'round my room

All your hardness
All your softness
And your mercy

All your bridges and bras
Your cotton
and gauze
All your buckles and straps
Releases and traps
All your screws
and false nails
Oriental winks
and Egyptian veils

Oh all of these things
I gathered them
And I made a dolly
I made a dolly
A spread-eagle dolly
Out of your frilly things

Why couldn't I have loved you
This tenderly
When you were here
In the flesh
So tenderly

How could I ignore
Your left breast
Your right breast

How could I ignore
Your hardness
Your softness
And your mercy

Well it's been seven years
And the thought of your name
Still makes me
Weak in the knees

How could I ignore
Your left breast
Your right breast
